When and where is it?
Mums and Tots is open on Tuesdays all year except for Christmas week. Sessions are 9.30am to 11am. It takes place in St Laurence’s Church Hall on the corner of Cowley High Street and Iver Lane.
Who can attend?
Mums and Tots is for parents, grandparents and carers with children up to 3 years old. During school holidays the children’s brothers and sisters are welcome to join in. Attendance is open to people from all faith backgrounds.
How much does it cost?
£1.50 for the first child in the family and £1 for others within the family.
At Christmas we ask for an extra £1 per child for a present from Father Christmas. We also ask that you bring an item of food for everyone to enjoy.
What happens at Mums and Tots?
You are responsible for your child throughout the session. There are lots of things for the children to do so you will have lots of chance to chat with the other adults.
Mums and Tots provides a selection of toys such as sit-in cars, a train set, dressing up clothes and baby toys. There is also a craft area where children look at books and puzzles, do colouring or make cards for special occasions. Sometimes the children decorate biscuits or make chocolate cornflake cakes with your help.
Half way during the session the craft tables are cleared and out come a variety of biscuits and drinks for the children. This is your chance for a tea or coffee.
Are there day trips?
Last summer Mums and Tots had a sponsored walk in the local park to raise money for a trip to Southend. Every child was presented with a bucket and spade, and all had great fun. Last summer we also walked to Fassnidge Park.
Who runs Mums and Tots?
The group is self-funding and run by volunteers. It is a St Laurence Cowley social club. Our volunteers love working with you and your young ones.
